Who

The Wolfpack

Meet our team of wellness practitioners, creative thinkers and experiential designers. We believe deeply in the healing that comes through connecting to the earth, ourselves and each other. The combined wisdom and experience of our team helps to ensure that your healing, comfort and enjoyment are met with every aspect of the Den Mother experience.

Elisa Angelone LAc. • Clinical Director

A Licensed Acupuncturist and Board Certified Herbalist, Elisa is Den Mother’s lead health practitioner and the creator of Den Mother’s signature healing therapies. Elisa began her healing education by apprenticing with her teacher Takamasa Tsurusaki, who taught her Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the lineage of his mentors Master Nagano and Kiiko Matsuomoto.

As a graduate and Assistant Director at the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto, Elisa set the formal educational foundation of her practice. Upon relocating to California she was the first Canadian educated student to pass the California Acupuncture Board Exams, the most rigorous in the country. She furthered her education as mentor and Assistant Director to  Misha Cohan, one of the true thought-leaders in Traditional Chinese medicine as it relates to infectious and terminal diseases and in the merging of Chinese and Western medicine.

The Japanese style of acupuncture Elisa practices works as a call and response with the recipient, deriving immediate and tangible results. Elisa uniquely combines this technique with Functional Phytotherapy, providing this same hands-on approach to herbology, using a form of muscle testing that identifies and addresses dis-ease within the body in a gentle yet powerful way. This potent combination of Elisa’s has become a much sought-after therapy and provides the backbone of Den Mother's functional medicine offerings.

Heather Tierney • Creative Director

Heather Tierney is the founder and creator of a wide portfolio of hospitality businesses, including The Butcher’s Daughter, a plant-based restaurant group. Infusing health and nutrition into lifestyle has always been a great interest to Heather; her mantra is to make eating and drinking a healthy pleasure instead of a burden.

Heather — also the founder of the design agency, Wanderlust—envisioned and led the design of Den Mother. To honor the original style of the craftsman bungalow, Heather and her team sand-blasted all the wood ceilings and walls to expose the red-wood and cedar. Various shades of raw woods lend the space a special warmth and texture similar to the preserved cabins found upstate in Big Sur.

Kenny Parmelee • Director of Guest Experience

Kenny believes magic happens when you combine a welcoming atmosphere, a great soundtrack, delicious food and drink and the right combination of people. Den Mother’s guest experience is created solely in the pursuit of this magic.

Kenny’s career has focused on all of the elements that make a social space thrive.  Throughout his adolescence and university days you would find him serving tables, or behind the bar at a number of notable restaurants and hotels. In more recent years Kenny pursued his passion for music which led him to key roles in the event space at both Pandora and Soundcloud.  Outside of his large company experience, he co-founded Peace In Noise, a predominant cultural force on the West Side of LA for the last seven years. The brand has been behind event series such as Wish You Were Here and charitable monthly event Nightcause.

Nick Westbrook • Tea Sourcing & Service Specialist

Nick grew up among the famously sweet iced teas of rural Georgia, but it was within a small, passionate community of loose leaf enthusiasts in Los Angeles that he fell in love with pure, specialty tea. Through his own brand, Huxbrook Tea, as well as consulting on unique local concepts, Nick strives to make the world of pure tea more accessible and enjoyable than it's ever been.

Jessica Cogan • Green Health & Beauty Specialist

After receiving a Masters degree in Public Health from Boston University, Jessica's own health struggles led her to deeply examine the impact of the products she regularly used.

What started as a personal curiosity led to a professional rabbit hole – Jessica has become a certified integrative nutritionist and herbalist, and is a board certified member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

Jessica’s unique background in women's health, environmental health, and epidemiology has enabled her to synthesize the science that supports the green beauty movement and to truly understand what makes a product both safe and effective. Today, Jessica is a sought after green beauty expert who has spent the last seven years working with private clients and beauty brands alike.

Jamie Lee • Culinary Specialist

Chef Jamie Lee’s culinary repertoire expanded while cooking in the Bay Area, where the farm to table movement flourished. Over the years, her travels involved staging at different international kitchens where she explored the local markets and street foods to expand her knowledge of the local palate, building on flavor profiles and taste memories. It is all the different experiences that helped form her philosophy on cooking. As a chef, she believes in viewing food holistically – from sourcing to preparation, the techniques used, its health benefits and the balance of flavor must all come together.
